Busy, Busy, Busy!

I came home from my retreat last month inspired and ready to finish some things up! I vowed to work on some UFOs.

This is a row robin from 2001! Five friends and I each did a row. When I got it out of the bag it was in pieces. I've been working all week to get it together. It always seems when so many different people work on something it takes a little effort to get everything to match up just right.  I had to add a little here and take away a little there. I have one more row to add before I add the borders. It sure feels good to get this in line for quilting...big stitch, I think.

Now that we've caught up on the Tootie Babie's events for October I'll tell you what I've been up to.

I went to the International Quilt Festival in Houston! Oh my, I supported the economy! I also met so many 'famous' quilters. Alex Anderson, the Country Threads girls, Lori Smith, Eleanor Burns, John Flynn, Ami Simms...those are just a few! Wow! I saw some great quilts. Most were in group exhibits and a lot were art quilts but, there were some traditional hand quilted ones too. Those were my favorite!

In late August I decided I would concentrate on finishing some fall quilts. I finished a pillow~

a Schnibble~

Unfortunately, since I supported the economy so well at Houston, I didn't have any money leftover to make October's Schnibble. At least, I felt too guilty to order anything online (at least for a little while).

Leftover Log Cabin~

The Great Pumpkin~

Thirteen Lucky Cats~

Big Stitch quilting.

And, a label!

By the end of October I was over the fall stuff! I'm ready for some Christmas now.

First , I have to finish a baby quilt for my new great niece, Olivia, who was born on Tuesday of this week!

Remember what a mess I was in during August with my new flooring and paint? Tomorrow I'll show you how it looks all put back together!

The Great Pumpkin

I started this last fall and just finished the hand quilting and binding. This is a pattern from Country Threads. I used big stitch quilting and it went FAST!

The Great Pumpkin even has a label!

My son is back on US soil! He is at Camp Lejune, NC outprocessing. He should be home with us in a week or so! Semper Fi!
