This quilt is sewn into rows. No blocks. Twenty-three rows. One thousand eight hundred and twelve pieces. Yes, that's 1,812 pieces! Now you know why I called this project ambitious.
This is the book the pattern is in. The pattern calls for 1and 1/2 inch squares but I had a lot of 2 and 1/2 inch squares already cut so I used that measurement instead of the smaller one. This quilt is a STASH BUSTER.
Tomorrow I'll give you a sneak peek as I have been sewing a few rows together this afternoon. As a matter of fact, I am about to unsew one of the rows sewn onto the wrong end!
Wonderful stash buster! Can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteOMG...over 1800 squares....I'm developing a nervous tick over my right eye just thinking about all those squares.....the reason being...last year my little group swapped half that amount.
ReplyDeleteYou're doing a great job of sewing them together!!!
Take care.
I need to get this book, I love your scrappy quilt that you are working on, can;t wait to see it finish! HAPPY SEWING!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had not given all my 30's fabrics away!
ReplyDeleteI am really curious to see the final product.
ReplyDeleteOh my gracious - ambitious indeed! I made a little bricks crib quilt this evening and it wasn't until it was all done that I realized the mistake I had made. I will post a photo so you can see. Oh well. This is for the nephew I haven't seen in about 5+years, so it will do the trick for his new baby. Love the pancake and banana trick and the rooster is a perfect addition to the wardrobe! :-)
ReplyDeleteOnward. Marne
I tempted to try this one. It's going to be very pretty when you finish it. Good therapy.
ReplyDeleteYou ARE ambitious!! Are you quilting this one? If so, I hope you have a long arm. Can't wait to see the finished project.
