Bias Binding and The Scalloped Border
Sounds like the title of a mystery book! I have a completly hand quilted whole cloth quilt with no binding. Normally that's not really a big deal but I started quilting this quilt in the early 90's, I finished quilting this quilt in early 2000 and it has been sitting there with no binding for six years! I planned on putting a scalloped border on this quilt. I've been scared to even try. Tonight I said what the heck! I cut a large square of my binding fabric and used the method for continuous bias binding. That went well even though it was my first time to try that method. I've started sewing it on and I can't believe how easy it is! Good grief!

I had my first adventure with a scalloped binding this year too and it was so much easier than I anticipated. And no corners to deal with. Will you be showing us a picture?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for tackling a scary project! I can't wait to see how it turns out!
ReplyDeleteGood Grief is right! The way we back ourselves into corners is interesting, isn't it?
