Something blue...

I've redecorated the Hoosier in the breakfast room. Before Christmas I had it filled with a set of Debbie Mumm Tea Time dishes made by Sakura in 1998. I had every piece designed for that line. It was all crammed in! For Christmas this year I displayed my Santa collection and I loved the look. Now, I have all sorts of blue and white pieces on the shelves. (Looks like I need to put the table leaves away. )

My Mom shined up the copper kettles. Very pretty! I found the lamp at Goodwill for a few dollars.

These are the Cottage Heritage dishes I've been collecting. I didn't know Pfaltzgraff had even designed these until one day while searching EBay for more pieces to add to my (plain white) Heritage collection I saw one piece with the little blue flower on it and bid right then! I've had the Heritage pattern for over 30 years. I think I have almost every piece and we use it everyday. So, these fit right in and even though they are hard to find I enjoy looking for them.
The light blue glass pieces are old Fire King pieces called Sapphire Blue Philbe Ovenware. It's another collection I search for. I've had them packed away for years. Thank goodness I remembered them before I filled the Hoosier with something else!

This is a little bit I found on EBay for practically nothing. Isn't it cute?
Thanks for visiting today. I hope you enjoyed seeing a glimpse of my cottage...Talk to you tomorrow!

  1. I do like your blue and white very much! I have a collection of blue and white dishes that Cracker Barrel sells. I started with a bowl that I purchased for myself, just because...., and then my friends and family all started buying it for me. Now I have a bunch of the stuff and no where to put it, LOL.

It was nice to see your post today and to get caught up on reading some of your other posts. Not sure why they did not show up on my bloglinks page.

I have not been doing a lot of quilting lately as there have been some family situations with my parents and brother to attend to, but hopefully life will somehow settle into some kind of routine that will allow me time to quilt.

Happy New Year Judy, and hope to stay in touch throughout 2009.
