True to my word, I have picked a UFO to work on. The pattern is from Quilt In A Day, called Bits and Pieces. I used 30's reproduction fabrics with plain muslin. I added Seminole Borders. Now, I'm ripping them off. All eight borders! The mitering was terrible, the seams going every which way and just generally put together sloppy. I don't usually do such sloppy work. Lets just say I wasn't in my right mind when I put the borders together. LOL!

This is the spot where the surgery is taking place. It's my new chair and a half which makes into a twin bed. Now my sewing room is also a guest room! A couple of nights ago I rearranged my room and cleaned up and put away almost all of the piles. When I am through I'll give you a tour...

This is a project on my design wall right now. It is a Lori Smith pattern, Fit To Frame: Set Six. I finished the applique right before Christmas. The fabrics are Civil War repros on cream backgrounds. I'll sew the blocks together without sashing and put on a border . But, first I have to get back to unsewing...

  1. Love your Fit to Frame quilt! I kind of enjoy ripping out but then I don't like putting them back together. Keep the willpower going!

  3. I wish I had room for one of those chairs in my sewing room.
I love your applique blocks. Lori Smith puts out such wonderful designs and so many of them. It is hard to select just one pattern because she has so many good ones.

  4. What a comfortable site to do that intricate surgery! I hate ripping, but it might be a little more appealing with a chair like that.

I have said that I'm going to work on UFO's too. I hope to get a few of them off the shelves this years.
