Home Sweet Home #5

I finished this block last night. I really love the blue stars and berries. I started block #4 this morning.

Annie and I are going to her OB appointment today. Cross your fingers that we might be able to see baby A and B's sexes!

Hope you all have a quilty day!

Here it is...

I sewed all day yesterday! I ripped a little too. I finally got the top put together around 10:30 last night. Whew!!! I have put tops together that are on point before but this one gave me some trouble. I had to make sure all the pink stars were on one row and blues the next...then, I had to make sure all the hourglass blocks were going the right way. You're saying that doesn't sound like a big deal. It doesn't sound like a big deal to me either! I must have had a brain fog yesterday...I just couldn't get it right. Sew, rip, sew, rip. Anyway it's done and all from stash too!

It's my birthday today! I'm 52! I don't feel like I'm 52. Every year I just shake my head and wonder where the time went! Well, gotta run. I'm going shopping!

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope you all had a great day! I know I did! My son brought me a beautiful arrangement in a tea pot! He said he knew that was 'the one' because I collect tea pots! He sure is sweet! My daughter came over today and brought me a kalanchoe in a cute little pink straw basket with leather (?) handles and two cards! What a sweetie pie! I'm going to have to learn how to take care of the kolanchoe since it can be planted outside. (A gardner I am not so any advice would be welcome.) We went to the mall to Motherhood to get her some summer clothes. Poor little thing is getting so round in the middle that she's having trouble with her wardrobe! She won't let me take a picture of her but next time I am going to insist. She looks so cute! My husband gave me a very nice card and did some special things around the house for me. Then tonight I sewed and sewed! A day couldn't be more perfect!

I finally finished the valances in my quilt room. They are a little wonky but I did the best I could with the staple gun. I'm not a handy woman either! The old quilt I cut up was so tatttered that it was unusable. So, don't worry I didn't cut up a good quilt. There are little places with cotton hanging out but I think it adds to the charm. My room had been torn up for two weeks while I put these together and it was so nice to clean up the mess and get back to normal.

In the next few days I should have the top of my sneak peek quilt put together and I'll be sure to take a picture.

Sneak Peek

These piles are the blocks that I started the other night. It's really twenty-four eight pointed stars and some hour glass blocks. Now all that's left to do is sew them into rows and put some borders on. More pictures later.

I started the fifth block for Home Sweet Home yesterday. I got the five stars done and am now working on the peony blocks. I've got to stop this afternoon and work on the curtains in my quilt room and hang a quilt in the guest bedroom. I'll take pictures of all when I'm done.

Have a great Saturday!

I finished the applique on Home Sweet Home block #3. I still have to embroider the top of the tree to connect the leaves and acorn. Right now they look like they are floating in air. LOL!

I started another locker hooked rug. This time it's going to be pink and green with a little tan. I turned under and finished the edges of the rug first this time. I also mitered the corners of the folded back edges and will hook them together with the top so the back doesn't have any raw edges. I'm busting some old stash with this one!

I went along with Annie to her high risk OB appointment last week. Look at this amazing picture from the ultrasound! Hopefully when she goes back this month we will be able to see the sexes of the babies. My husband said he can't wait to find out what they are. When asked why, he said "That's when we go into financial ruin." LOL!!! We've been waiting to find out if they are boys or girls to begin the MOTHER OF ALL SHOPPING SPREES!!! Also, to plan the BEST BABY SHOWER OF THE CENTURY!!!

Isn't that amazing? I think that's baby A. We couldn't get very good images of baby B because he/she was a wiggle worm, flipping all over the place!

Oh, I did start a new quilt. I had some older pieces of Robyn Pandolph fabric that I had gotten off E-bay a while ago. They came with a magazine, Australian Country Threads, that had a pattern for Hannah's Wedding Quilt. I was trying to find some more fabrics to go with the older ones I had but just gave up and started cutting it out. I'll take a picture next time to show you. It is really pretty.

Bye for now. Have a quilty day!
