I'm really back now!!!

Well, I didn't find my memory stick but I found a cable!!! Now I'm cooking!!! I have so much to share with you!

First, my Vintage Valentine blocks I've completed since I was in Louisiana in May. I am working on the large center block now and will be able to put the top together when I am finished with it! Yes, it's so exciting to be so near to finishing! I completed two of them while I was at my Mom's and the other three after I got home. I just decided to work on this quilt until I was done.

This is my latest Home Sweet Home block. I finished this in Louisiana. I think I have five out of nine blocks done. I'll get back to work on this quilt when I am through with Vintage Valentine.

This is my latest home decorating project. I found this fabric at Goodwill! It was only $3.00 for six yards!!! The moment I saw it I knew what I would do with it. I made a slipcover for my ottoman in the great room. It turned out really nice. I used the denim slipcover that was on the ottoman for a pattern. I changed the corners of the skirt so that the legs wouldn't show. Then I used the leftover fabric to cut out pillows for the couch. I made one with red check piping and box corners and took and old feather pillow apart to use for the insert. I made another pillow sham and have one more cut out. This really adds needed color in the room.

Whew! Now we are almost caught up. Next post I'll talk about decorating the babies room. We had so much fun! Think Pink! (That's my new motto.)

Oh, Phooey!

It seems I've misplaced the card for my digital camera! I took it on my visit and I never even used it. Now I can't find it anywhere! Looks like you'll have to settle for one of my daughter's pictures.

Her mother-in-law, Grandma Leslie, sent her this wonderful contraption! The carriers come off and sit on bases as car seats. Double duty!

We ordered the cribs and a dresser on Sunday. We also had to order some special fitting mattresses for the cribs. Since we have to have two cribs we found some neat mini cribs that are the full width of a regular size crib but are about a foot shorter, about the size of a porta-crib. The mattresses are here and we are just waiting for the rest of it. I found some nursery bedding...bumper pads, dust ruffles, quilts, blankets, sheets, a lamp and a mobile that all match and are pink and green and white. Very cute! I have to find that danged card for my camera...

I'm back!!!

So sorry to leave you all hanging, I've been at my parent's house in Louisiana for 3 weeks helping my Mom get unpacked and set up in their newly renovated home! Katrina was not nice to them. A huge tree fell on their house and left a gaping hole in their roof. In addition, 72 trees fell in their yard! Of course, they landed on everything - the garage, the sheds, the trailer, carports...you name it, it was flattened. So, they remodeled their home and the inside is almost finished! I helped her unpack boxes and put things away, placed furniture and made curtains. It was so fun and her house is beautiful! I miss you Mom!

I have so many things to tell you ! First, the most important news of all, we are having TWO GIRLS! You don't even know how excited we are for this news! This will be the first girls in our family in 34 years! Oh, yes! We are on pink overload! Annie is growing around the middle every day! She looks so cute! Very soon we will be going shopping for baby furniture! Two cribs and a dresser! Plus, very pink accessories. We are going to have so much fun! Can you tell I am excited?

I finished three applique blocks while I was visiting. The Home Sweet Home #4 and two Vintage Valentine blocks. I also found the perfect fabric for my bedroom curtains. I bought 18 yards of it! I also bought 6 yards of a companion fabric. I'm going to get on those right away, since we have lived in our house for 7 years and the only curtains I have done are in the quilting room!

I'll be back soon with pictures and more news!
