A Shining Star For You

This little quilt top is one of the patterns from Lori Smith's line: Fit To Frame. Since this picture was taken I have machine quilted the top and sewn the binding to the front. I'll take a completed picture when I finish the binding.

Happy Father's Day to all you Dads out there!

Recently I hung a couple of things in the guest room. One of them was this quilt that I call Heart Garden. I hung it behind an old iron bed. I've had this bed for many years. The quilt was a kit from Houston St. Merchantile in Granbury, TX. It's machine quilted by my friend Ty. She did a beautiful job using feathers and a background filler. I know the picture is fuzzy but take a close look at the white metal piece hanging above the quilt. I think it came off an old porch.

I found this little hanging rack at an antique store in town. It's not old but it's so cute! I hung the Tootie Babies little outfits and Easter hats on it. The style of this room is Shabby Chic.
It's a hot, dry day in Texas today. I think we will reach 100 degrees this weekend. My sister and dad are driving up from Louisiana today for a visit. I've got a quilt project planned for my sister so stay tuned for some show and tell!

Plentiful and a Budding Photographer

Plentiful designed by Kathy Schmitz. I haven't decided whether to frame this or make it into a pillow.

This is the book the pattern is from. (Sorry about the flash.) Kathy Schmitz considers herself an updated Americana/folk artist. Her website is http://www.kathyschmitz.com/

She designs fabric for Moda. She's not a quilter but she sure knows how to please us!

What is this?

Oh, I know how to work this...Nana takes my picture a lot.

See, you hold it like this...

And take a big ol' picture of your face!
